Norethisterone

Hi, I saw a gynaecologist back in December after many many years of failed treatments to resolve irregular bleeding (inc Novasure).
At the time I wasn’t actually bleeding irregularly but having really heavy periods during my ‘off’ time. I was taking 1xNorethisterone daily for 2 weeks then off for two weeks.
He suggested that as I seem to tolerate this medication, that increasing it to three x daily with one week off per month for period may help with the heaviness of bleeding.
Now I feel as though I’m in a real mess - three months down the line and bleeding almost constantly, although mainly just a breakthrough light bleed after my week off (where my period is slightly lighter but not significantly so).
I’m 48, and running out of options. Has anyone used similar dose which has settled after a longer trial? He also suggested continuous but will this help?
Not on any other meds. Any advice more than gratefully received!

Ive only used it to delay my period but a friend was given it when she’d had her period for 6 weeks and it did nothing to stop or lighten hers.
She ended up having an endometrial ablation to stop her period.
I have heavy periods and am discussing with my Dr about going to on it as a mini pill but also taking trans acid to lighten them.
