Worsening PMS symptoms with temperature swings and anxiety in late 30s

Hello

I am 37 year old mum of two. For the last 2 years I’ve struggled with what appears PMS. Never had anything like this before.

2 weeks before my period I get back pain, become very emotional and anxious and struggle with temperature regulation. I get really cold during the day and nothing heats me up. Then I wake up during the night roasting (have got up several times to check I haven’t left the heating on).

It’s really beginning to impact on day to day life and dread the 2 weeks prior to period. I also get really breathless. Have been to the GP and all bloods normal and hormone profile done and all normal.

of you have got this far. Thank you and was wondering if anyone can relate or have the answer?

Sounds like possible start of perimenopause which can happen at your age. My gp said my bloods were fine too but I went private and the bloods need to be taken at a certain stage of your cycle and the dr also said they go by symptoms not just by bloods. Anyway I had zero testosterone and very low estrogen from their tests. I’m still getting HRT right but I’m better. Night sweats and hot flushes were a constant! I’d wake up drenched!

Thank you so much for your reply. I’ll maybe go back to the GP. If this is perimenopause which I thought it might be no idea how I will cope with menopause!

Glad to hear things are a bit better and hope the continue to get better. It really affects day to day living. If it was a shot period I could put up with it but 2 weeks if half my life.
