Your experience of being prescribed testosterone

It seems a real pot luck postcode lottery with some GPs prescribing testosterone hrt and others refusing it.

My GP has said I need bloods done to check hormone levels, but she wants a consultant to decide if I should have testosterone.

I had a hysterectomy 7yrs ago (kept ovaries) as I was only 38 at the time. I’m on Everol 50 patches which are helping a bit but really want to try testosterone to see if other symptoms can be improved.

Have others had to see a consultant or specialist? Or has your GP been happy to prescribe?

Im so frustrated with the whole thing!

I first got HRT from a private clinic, then moved it over to my GP. The clinic prescribed testosterone after blood tests and the practice nurse at the GP just added it to the list. They seem to have put it down at the male low-testosterone dosage as I could order a box every month on repeat, but I only use 1/8 of a sachet per day, not a whole one!
