Bleeding after hysterscopy

Just trying to gauge experiences as information is quite varied. I had light spotting for a couple of days, then watery blood which I expected (saline solution leaving my uterus), followed by several days of bright red blood. It's a week tomorrow since the procedure and I sort of feel that the bleeding should get lighter rather than heavier as it is doing.

I'm 56 and was referred following bleeding more than a year after my last period. Internal scan suggested thickened uterine lining, which the hysteroscopy indicated wasn't the case.

Has anyone has a similar experience post-hysterscopy? I'm actually wondering if it's another period and puzzled as to what the heck my ancient ovaries think they're playing at. I'll contact the GP if it hasn't stopped by Monday, but all they could do is refer me for tests, which I've just had done and am waiting the results of.

TIA

I’ve had two, first was just a hysteroscopy with a small sample taken, and bleeding stopped almost immediately after. Second one was a polyp removal too, and bled for a day or 2.

Thanks, that was what I was expecting. I'll see how it goes.

I’m 55 and just had what I think is a period. I have a Mirena coil with HRT and haven’t had any bleeding since my last hysteroscopy in December. It’s hard to know what is going on.

I had one done middle of last month. Polyp removal too on 2ww due to being 47 and thick lining on ultrasound. The consultant said i would have blood and water passing but I only had some dark blood but nothing else and no period either. Usually bang on time but last peruod was in January. Is this something to see GP about? Waiting on biopsy results so very anxious.

It's quite common to start missing periods in your late 40s, but do speak to your GP if you're concerned.

I definitely seem to be having another period - weird as my uterine lining was thin a week ago. I have been under considerable stress for the last few months, which may be the cause, I guess.

I’m under a lot of stress right now, so that could be my problem too.
