Severe pelvic pain – endo or something else? (Wales)

Hi all,

Since December I’ve had ongoing bladder pain and severe pelvic pain. I’ve seen my GP multiple times and Zapain isn’t touching it.

Last week the GP said my appendix area was very tender and prescribed 3 days of antibiotics. She was clear that if the pain worsened I was to attend A&E not call 111. She was really set this on.

On Sunday the pain escalated significantly — I developed pulsing pain on my right side alongside the worst pelvic pain I’ve had. Normally I would never go to A&E, but given what the GP had said and how severe it was, I was genuinely concerned about appendicitis/rupture, so I went as advised.

Bloods were normal and I was told it wasn’t appendicitis as I was walking normally and inflammatory markers were fine.

I was diagnosed with endometriosis last March. I have DIE and was told my right side is adhered. I’m currently on the waiting list for surgery but have been told it’s likely to be October. I’m based in Wales.

My question is — can endo cause this level of pelvic pain? Has anyone had similar while waiting for surgery?

It’s bad enough to keep me awake at night and I’m struggling to function, but I also don’t want to keep going back to the GP/A&E if this is “just” endo but I also in pain non stop so can't win.

Would really appreciate any experiences or advice please? X

Any pain that is cyclical in nature and or gets worse up up to and including menses could be related to endometriosis and should be checked out. Pelvic pain is a feature of endometriosis.

Id be phoning the gynae dept on a regular basis to see if there are any cancellations appointments. Ideally you need surgery before October because that is still
some months away. If you live in Wales is it possible for you to be seen by a gynaecology dept in England itself?.

I never had pevic pain as part of my endo. I have been really unwell being sick etc so new to this really I have no idea if it's endo or something else. They're checking out if it's PID because of the sickness.

They said I need a pre op then I can ask about cancellations. I did ask and they said because of how bad it was I need to seen by this one doctor here.

I have severe pelvic pain and mine is adenomyosis. Apparently goes hand in hand with endometriosis. Might be worth asking for a gynae ultrasound if youve not had one in a while
