Recurring thrush - solution!!

Just incase it helps anyone else.

I never had thrush my entire life but started to get it after I had the hormonal IUD fitted- after about a year of having it. It started off one in a while and ended up every single month I’d get it.

I didn’t make the connection initially and neither did the GP. They felt it was linked to my period and the change in PH. I was given a preventative course of Fluconazole twice - which meant taking it weekly for months.

I was tested for diabetes but still got the thrush every month.
I had my IUD removed and no more thrush!

This is just a post to help anyone who is suffering from recurring thrush and has an IUD. It might be worth taking it out.

Thanks for this - might be something for me to bear in mind.

Hi @LilyLilacanna . They are the work of the devil in my opinion and I'm glad you are well again now. Can I encourage you to make a MHRA yellow card report about your experience? Xxx
