Cystoscopy questions

Just wanted to hear from anyone who had a flexible cystoscopy.
Is it horrible / painful, and did it cause irritation / other side effects?

I’ve had two, they were not at all horrible. Very quick and slightly uncomfortable. No after effects. It’s really nothing to get worked up about.

This. I didn’t even find it uncomfortable.

Uncomfortable, but not painful like a smear test.

Ok, thank you, everyone, for replying!
I was just going to ask, is it similar in sensation to a smear test? To me smears can be fine but if done with older equipment and depending on the nurse, can be quite long and uncomfortable.

I'm surprised to learn that this is better than smear!

i've read that there is a risk of infection or even being unable to urinate as a result - they don't say it's rare so I felt alarmed about that.
Does it last 5min or so? Hard to imagine that a thick tube would not irritate it post-procedure.
I also wonder, was it worth it for you in terns of the findings?
