So every now and then I’m convinced I have a uti. No stinging or burning, but some urgency and serious bladder pain/pressure/discomfort which is worse in the evening/night.

tests never show a uti and but do often flag up thrush. Thrush medication always sorts it.

I get no discharge, etc. I once when this started spent months convinced I had a uti which i couldn’t shift. No dr ever suggested thrush until one MSU sample came back with it. Then a day after taking the meds it cleared up. Is this really that unusual?

Hi OP. If you are 40s or older, this could be the start of genitourinary syndrome of the menopause. It might be that the thrush is a red herring. I may be wrong but bear it in mind. Xxxx

I was also thinking perimenopause: I used to spend loads on thrush treatments until I realised. Vaginal oestrogen really helped.

Oh I’m 50 so this might be it. Honestly I was bad all last week, took thrush tablet (oral) on Fri and was fine by Saturday. Thanks, will see about vaginal oestrogen. It’s been going on, off and on since mid 30s though.

If you do have vaginal dryness (common in menopause) it means you won’t produce the typical white discharge associated with thrush because you don’t have the mucus / discharge to do this - it’s very common with vaginal atrophy and Sjögren’s syndrome (which I have, and lupus). I have permanent invasive Candida and take Fluconazole 50mg almost every single day (I’m under specialists for it). Vaginal oestrogen can really help.
