I was hoping someone could help me find a way to get to the bottom of my health concerns, I often go to the GP with a list of things I want to say/want them to do and come away feeling fobbed off with a prescription for something that doesn’t work.
Ive always had stomach issues constipated/ diarrhoea but around a year ago was hospitalised for a week with severe diarrhoea- upwards of 30 times per day. I had follow up colonoscopy which I was told were clear. Ive then had severe constipation since, sometimes with blood (I’ve done a stool sample which was fine), I have often gone 2/3 weeks without going at all, or tiny amounts. I’ve gained a huge amount of weight (16kg and at 5”4 that’s a lot!) I don’t eat excessively though I do enjoy treats, the weight gain and tiredness has made me so miserable so I decided to pay out for meal preps which are calorie controlled and high in protein and tracked for the last 6 weeks and gained 8kg 😵💫 I’ve been going for regular colonics as I felt so sluggish and whilst I’m a bit more regular now I still have bouts of constipation.
I’m now anaemic, low on folic acid, iron, and folate, my cholesterol is low too. I’m exhausted all the time, I’m fat and bloated and miserable.
If I take iron supplements it makes my stomach worse, I’ve been having regular folic acid injections but I’m still low, my b12 is a good level.
I’ve recently been getting a lot of pain in my bones on my arms and the backs of my lower legs, aswell as headaches which I’ve very rarely had previously.
I feel like the Drs just want to give me laxatives and supplements but given I’m eating balanced meals I shouldn’t need them! I was tested around a year ago for celiac which came back fine.
Thankyou for any advice
