I’m only 42 but I’ve not had a period for 2 months, before then they have always been regular. I had was put under general anaesthetic a couple of months ago for surgery and wondering if that might have something to do with it but I did have 2 periods following that and then they stopped. They is no chance I am pregnant as I had a pregnancy test before surgery and have not had sex since then, as I’m still recovering from surgery.

is it worth contacting Gp? Can or will they do anything.

It could be one of many reasons.

Paused periods (secondary amenorrhoea) | NHS inform

Yes, it's worth contacting your GP. While the surgery and anesthesia might have temporarily affected your cycle, there could be other factors at play, like stress or hormonal changes.
