Mirena and constant thrush

I had my mirena removed last Monday had a bleed for a week and now things feel better than before but not 100% still slightly sore on the outer vagina.I have a follow up appointment in 5 weeks as I was using the coil as part of HRT so had to change things. My question is if this happened to you how long till it felt normal again after removal? It’s been horrible and I just want to feel back to before this nightmare.

I'm really sorry for what you're experiencing but thank you for posting because they want me to have a mirena coil next week and I'm going to say I don't want it. I can't stand having something else go wrong and the thought of having it inside without being able to do anything if there are side effects has really put me off. I'll stick to oral progesterone. Thank you and I hope you feel much better soon.

It might be nothing to do with the coil?

I was diagnosed with lichens sclerosis by the gynae and the stuff I was prescribed by the GP wasn’t doing anything for it. I now use a steroid cream for flare ups but after treating it properly, and it’s much better now.

I had my last Mira coil in for over 10years.

@LifeisLemons
it definitely was the coil and I’ve been swabbed 3 times it is thrush. Since my coil removal things have improved but not 100% it’s not been 2 weeks yet. The doctor has treated others with the same problem some did a long treatment option and stuck with it and were fine some women took out the coil. I tried for a few months but it was horrible. Thanks for the info but it’s definitely coil related thrush.

if your fine on the progesterone stick with that. Along with the thrush I had my anxiety ramp back up for the first 3 months. I was worried about starting utrogestan but so far 9 days in I’ve had no side effects…..if only I’d known that sooner!
