Perimenopause? Cold flashes?

Hi, I'm 42 and think I'm possibly perimenopause. My periods have been irregular for a few years now, but since December I started with night sweats, soaked through most nights and having to change at like 3am, up until a week ago, when they changed to slightly damp either through the night or when I wake up in the morning, this morning was a little more then damp but not soaking iykwim, so I'm expecting the night sweats to get bad again.
And although I have had the occasional hot flush, I am getting periods of feeling intense deep cold, and even cuddling a hot water bottle is not warming me up inside. Are cold flushes a thing in perimenopause? I'm planning on trying to get a doctors appointment this week but would like to know if this is a symptom so I'm fully prepared for the appointment so I'm not fobbed off, I've not had great experiences with doctors in the past. Thanks

Yes, cold flashes can be a symptom apparently. I know because I looked it up after I had the most bizarre experience on a hot summer day when I just suddenly turned ice cold.

I've never felt anything like it, it was as though I suddenly had ice water running through my veins instead of blood. Sounds mad, but I actually kept checking my pulse to check my heart was still beating as I couldn't understand how I could suddenly have turned so cold.

It lasted about 10-15 minutes.

Yes, it's a really weird feeling, it's so difficult to explain too, it's not something I have ever experienced up until it started in December. I keep putting off going to the doctors as feel like im wasting their time but then again it's all really effecting my sleep and I can't keep going on like this, it's awful
