Period Misery

Has anyone experienced something similar and can advise? My last period was a week later than normal and I had very heavy bleeding. I did many tests in the run up to my period which were all negative. After my period stopped I had 2 days of nothing then started to spot again which, after 4/5 days turned into a full on heavy period bleed. I’m still bleeding a week on from the heavy bleeding starting with no sign of it stopping. I’ve also been experiencing ‘gushes’ of heavy bleeding that soak through a pad and have large clots.
Could this be a miscarriage without a positive pregnancy test? I’ve called my GP for an appointment twice but they won’t see me before the first available appointment which is next week despite calling for an emergency appointment due to the blood loss.
Would I be unreasonably to go to A & E?
Has anybody had anything similar?

I would get yourself checked out in A&E . A family member had the same problem. It turned out her iron was soo low she had to have a blood transfusion. Myself had a period for 9 months non stop.There wasn't anything abnormal found and just said its the start of your periods and the first few years will be up and down before they settle. They will do more tests like a scan to rule out cysts,fibroids or anything else. X
