Good morning ladies.
I have spoken to a GP about this but I'm a little hesitant to just leave it. The doctor informed me it was a cyst, over the phone and it will probably go away.

I just wondered if anyone else had experienced the following.

I'm 52, menopausal. My right breast, upper inside, I felt a little squidgy lump.
Over the a couple months it has grown.

It's soft to touch, about an inch in length. It feels like a ridge when you go over the skin surface, but soft to touch.

When I have a tshirt, jumper on I can feel it but you can't see it.....I showed my best mate, she had a feel 🤣 bless her. She said it was quite big. I know it's probably nothing, but your brain has you going through everything.

If you're still here after reading this essay, congratulations. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 😊

There is absolutely no way that your GP should diagnose a breast cyst over the phone. Make an emergency appointment with a different GP and insist on an urgent referral to the one stop breast clinic. The likelihood of it being cancer is small as most lumps are cysts or other benign conditions but a breast lump is considered to be cancer until it is known to be otherwise.

Go back to the doctors. This is not good enough (and I say this as a doctor).
it sounds like from your description it is very superficial and could be in the skin rather than the actual breast tissue but the only way to actually tell is to examine.
Youre worried enough to be posting on an internet forum at 2am so transfer that into advocating for yourself and push for a face to face review

Ooh no I would be pushing back hard on that to get a referral to the breast clinic. I got a lump in my armpit in 2021 when F2F were hard to get, I got one and the dr referred me to the clinic straight away. Thankfully it was nothing. But they can't diagnose lumps over the phone, they need checking out. I'd phone and ask to speak to the practice manager if you can't get anywhere through the appointments triage system.

Thank you i will. I've had an angiolipoma removed and have a marker in my other breast. I was taken back by her answer. I have autism get quite overwhelmed with my various health issues.(lupus, sjögren's)
I get embarrassed because I spend many a time at the hospital

Thank you for your advice.
