Period swimwear for sporty teen

My teen DD is a keen swimmer and trains with a competitive club 2-3 times a week. They're quite strict on attendance and she hates missing sessions.
She started her periods a year or so ago and they've been getting a bit heavier in the last few months. She wears period underwear and/or pads and has no issues and I also bought her a period swimsuit from Modibody. She has had a couple of embarrassing incidents recently where she has leaked during swimming training, I'm not convinced the period suit she has is for anything beyond a light flow. She has been trying tampons but she's not managed to place one right yet.

Does anyone have any experience of a swimsuit that she can wear without the risk of leaking? She's in and out of the pool a lot during training and diving off blocks so it needs to be able to cope with a lot of movement. She wears a women's size 10.

tampons are the solution here. I was a competitive swimmer during the puberty years and this is what everyone did. A period swimsuit obviously won’t keep blood contained

Yes I feared that may be the case. She has tried and failed a couple of times with tampons. It's tricky because she feels under pressure to use them which obviously doesn't help. We'll persevere and hopefully she'll get the hang of it.
