Help! Do I go private?

Please, I don't want this to get derailed by a moral argument. I know I'm incredibly lucky to have the choice and I also know we couldn't afford health insurance if it wasn't through my DH's company. I am incredibly grateful.
After a visit to my GP I've been put on a 2 week fast track for further investigation by gynaecology. I was told I would be contacted within 2 days about the appointment. Four days later I'd not heard so at 4.00 this morning I made a private appointment (yes, I've not slept since seeing GP). I've now just missed a call from the NHS hospital offering me an appointment. What do I do? I don't know when the NHS one will be but presume within 2 weeks, the private one is Monday. Would I be better going through the NHS for investigation or should I stay with the private appointment? Thank you all so much for reading.

Push on with both. Keep both appointments. I did this with my gallbladder and ended up having it removed privately. Do not give up that private appointment, whatever you do! Really good luck with getting it all sorted.

I feel so stupid for not even considering this! Thank you so much

Totally agree... at the very least you get two opinions about something very important.. and if private one finds all is well before the NHS one comes up, you can cancel

Good luck!
