Breast lump - what could it be??

I’m currently 5 weeks pregnant. At the start of December I noticed a lump or more like a hard area on my left breast which appeared to go away. This morning I felt it again, it felt like a larger area this time and feels tender to touch. went to the gp and she’s referred me for further investigations- says it may take up to 2 weeks to hear from anyone! I’ve referred myself to a private clinic, hoping to get an appointment in the next few days. I’m so worried, made even worse by the fact I’m pregnant and going through this. Has anyone had a similar experience and have any idea what it could be? Obviously my minds going to worse case scenario but any reassurance on what else it could be. I’m 23 and expecting my second child.

Well it’s highly likely to be a cyst, especially given your age and the fact that it is tender, and the fact that it disappeared for a while and came back. You’ll be seen very quickly.

it can be anything and nothing

Ring in the morning for an appointment and say its a breast lump and you will be seen that day

If you GP can find a lump and your history may make that lump worth looking at, you will be red flagged for an appointment at the nearest breast clinic

Red flagging is nothing to be scared off

If your system where you live is working well you will be seen hopefully within 48 hours, all tests done and a diagnosis and if needed a treatment plan

Hormones play havoc with breasts. Especially pregnancy hormones so please dont be panicking

Right GP in the morning and tell them its a lump , you will be seen
