Is this normal? I had a baby nearly 12 weeks ago got second degree tear and episiotomy, I didn’t think I was healing right so I got checked by a gp 2 weeks ago. He said it all looks like it healing ok although my scar is still very tender and red. He also said I had some granulation tissue but when he was pressing it it wasn’t causing me any pain. I have also not had any unusual discharge he said it’s just taking my body longer to heal.
Anyways I thought the pain was getting better and healing then just now I’ve been to the toilet and there is bright red blood on the tissue from my scar, not a lot but still something. We tried to DTD last night although wasn’t successful and I stoped before any major pain I also haven’t had any bleeding and this was 24 hours ago nearly.
Is this normal or should I contact gp again

I can’t tell from your post if it was bleeding or not but either way I had a similar experience with ongoing pain, soreness etc, pain when sitting down and at 16 weeks I was put on another course of antibiotics which did solve it. We didn’t DTD until I was 7 months postpartum and it was ok by then but used a LOT of lube.

I’ve had another vaginal birth since which was much easier and required only a couple of stitches from natural tearing. My original episiotomy scar is fine during sex now but I can still feel it sometimes and I get some aches in it at certain times of the month (mainly if I have period pain too)

@Theonlywayicanloveyou yeah it’s the bleeding that’s concerning me now as the gp 2 weeks ago said my recovery might take a bit longer. I’ve never had an infection in it or anything my body must just take longer to heal
