So annoyed - Dermoid cyst found and no gyne app for 28 weeks !

I’m sooo utterly fed up , a dermoid cyst was found during a scan and not gyne are saying I can’t be seen for 36 weeks !! Should I be worried ???

They are usually harmless which his probably where it is not classed as urgent.

I had one and the advice was to get it checked again in a couple of years! I wouldn’t worry.

Dermoid cysts are quite common and not classed as an issue unless they grow quite big, etc and may rupture at that stage but most are fine.

Normally, it's just monitored by with pelvic and transvaginal ultrasounds every 3-6 months. I'd make sure you get one in the next 6-ish months to see if there's any major progression in growth - as that may speed up a referral. If you start having symptoms from it that are getting worse to your GP.
