I’ve been on the mini pill now for 8 months I was spotting the first few months then the bleeding stopped and I didn’t have a period for a few months now im
bleeding again on and off it’s so frustrating I’m so worried it’s something serious drs keep saying it’s the pill and it can happen I’ve had smear and scans and nothing found but I’m still worried it’s something more sinister going on
Has anyone else had this? Dr said it can just happen and continue the spotting and said to try the copper coil which I’ve had before which gave me heavy periods once a month but i think I’d rather go back to that than having to wear a pad constantly and worried am I going to
bleed today

Yes I had this. Are you very strict with the time you take the pill? Any variance of more than an hour for me, and I’d spot the next day. After each DC, it took me around a year to settle again with no periods/spotting x

Do you take any other med.s? As I’ve recently experienced this with someone I support and have been told that it’s a side effect of the Fluoxetine she also takes.

The exact same thing happened to me recently! It was absolutely fantastic at first and I had no periods for nearly a year after the initial spotting.
then for six months I was bleeding or spotting most weeks.
I came off desogetral and went onto microgygnon which I haven’t had for over ten years but my periods are much lighter and regular!
I was reluctant to stop taking it but it is the best thing I have done.

I had my coil removed as I didn’t stop bleeding for almost two years and went on to desogesteral and have had the same issues. I don’t know what else I can try now.

I take desogestrel and I’ve not had a period in 5 years now, no weight gain, no mood swings - it’s great
