Thrush BV or UTi!

I’m honestly going insane 😭

I’m 5 weeks pregnant and went to the GP because I was sure I had thrush. They tested my urine and then prescribed me BV tablets, even though I don’t have smelly discharge at all.

I’ve taken the tablets and they’ve done absolutely nothing. I’m still convinced it’s thrush because I am ITCHY AS HELL – like genuinely could use a hairbrush down there right now if I could 😩 The itching is severe and I’m also really sore.

I spoke to a pharmacist who said I can’t use a pessary because I’m pregnant, but I’m sure I’ve read on here that lots of people still use them in early pregnancy?

I’ve got light brown/white discharge (sorry TMI) but no smell at all – just unbearable itching and soreness.

Has anyone else had this in early pregnancy? Did you use a pessary anyway? I feel like no one is listening and I’m miserable.

Have you had full swabs done to see if it actually is thrush? That needs doing (not a urine test).

FWIW I thought I had thrush for years but it was BV - my only symptoms were itching and discomfort, none of the ones you read about like the offensive smell etc. My GP did the swabs and then prescribed internal cream which was life-changing but I don’t know if you could use it while pregnant. I would go back and ask for swabs though so you know what you’re dealing with.
