I’m in my late 40s and my periods have gone a bit haywire in that they have become less regular - often now the cycle is only 3 weeks, and then a couple of times it’s been 5 or 6 weeks.
I came on just over a week ago and it was a bit of a shorter period than normal. Then a few days ago I kind of came on again - it was literally only 7 days after the previous one had started! (Or you could say 4 days after the last one had ended.) So I’ve spent the last few days with a very very light flow - I guess you could call is spotting as I’ve been ok without a pad.
My question is, does anyone know if this is cause for concern? Obviously I could speak to a GP, but my local surgery has recently contacted everyone to basically say don’t get in touch unless it’s urgent!
I think I’ll leave it and see how this pans out, but i’m just wondering if it is a common thing in the peri-menopause.
Is it possible that these last few days of very light flow are the remnants of that shortened period a week ago?! Like it ended and some of it just got stuck up there and has now decided to come out!?
I haven’t had sex for a long time, so it’s not related to that (I know spotting after sex would be a cause for concern).
Any advice welcomed. x
