Back pain related to possible Adenomyosis

Hi, I posted to say that recently, after 4/5 months of suddenly much heavier periods and pelvic pain, I was referred for an ultrasound. The sonographer noted possible Adenomyosis and I'm on the NHS waiting list for gynaecology. I'm actually managing the heavy flow quite well with tranexemic acid. However, the thing I am struggling with most of all is what feels like month-long back pain. I'm now on cd8 and it's agony. I've needed ibuprofen tablets, gel and a heated patch on my back all day to survive at work. I obviously can't know for certain if it's definitely Adenomyosis-related (or even if I have that condition for certain until confirmed by a specialist) but my goodness it's awful. It does feel like my back is very inflamed and at the moment, the pain is particularly bad in the middle of my spine. Does this sound normal? I don't really know what to do. Osteopath? Is there any point going back to the GP? I won't hear from the hospital re referral for a while. I'm mostly just quite freaked out by this pain being so strong.

That sounds awful. Sorry you’re suffering so much. It’s probably worth going back to the gp to talk to them about it in case you need further investigations of your back or otherwise. For what it’s worth, I have been diagnosed with adeno and I feel it at the front of my abdomen. I had endo when I was younger and had a lot of pain towards the back - along with various other lovely symptoms. I ‘only’ had the pain around my period though not for weeks / months at a time. Ive also had bad back pain with kidney infections. Definitely think it’s worth talking to your gp whilst you wait for gyno appnt. Hope you get some information and a solution soon.
