Anyone else experience constant breakthrough bleeding?

I'm in my late 20s and started taking the combined pill in my late teens. Pretty soon after I started taking it, I started getting constant brown discharge/breakthrough bleeding. I tried all sorts of things to help but it never went away - I was referred to an NHS gynaecologist and was told it was old blood coming out caused by the pill, and nothing serious.

Eventually I got fed up, so this spring I came off the pill... and I'm still experiencing the constant discharge! A few months ago my doctor referred me for some tests including a pelvic ultrasound, but everything came back clear. I'm now on a waiting list to see a gynaecologist again. As the waiting list is so long, I saw a private gynaecologist last month - she found cervical ectropion and treated it, but she said if it didn't stop that it may take up to a year for my cycle to regulate itself, and to investigate further if I'm still experiencing this next spring. Sadly, the cervical ectropion treatment hasn't made any difference.

Since coming off the pill I'm also experiencing super light periods - even lighter than the ones I had on the combined pill. Usually they've been and gone within a day! Otherwise I haven't noticed any other changes since coming off the pill (though I miss having completely clear skin 😪).

I'm not really looking for answers, but has anyone else ever experienced this? I've tried Googling but it seems like I'm the only woman who's had this bizarre symptom - it would be really comforting to know I'm not alone!
