Changes to period - when to seek medical attention?

For context I have lost over 100lbs in the last 15 months.

My periods have varied, I think because of this. They used to be dead on a 28 day cycle and relatively easy. Not nice, I’d get some cramps, but nothing awful. They’ve always followed the same cycle - spotting on day one, two days of heavy-ish bleeding (probably four pads a day), a day of spotting, done. That hasn’t changed.

In the last few months they’ve started to change a bit. They range from a 25-29 day cycle, and some months the cramps are awful and some they’re fine. This weekend has been especially bad. I was bent double in pain on Saturday and crying out. It subsided a bit on Sunday but it was still pretty bad.

The change in cycle timing and now this has me a bit worried, but I don’t know how much of this is down to the weight loss?

How old are you?

I'd make an appointment with the GP if it was me. I think any changes are worth checking out.

I’m 26.

I used to have very painful periods when I was younger, but it tapered off for a while
