Ive Had a lump in my left breast for 6 weeks I’ve finally gone to the gp and he’s put in a urgent referral to the breast clinic for a ultrasound and possibly a biopsy, I’m freaking out abit now, just wondering if anyone’s been through this and how did it go?

My appointment went amazing turns out I just have lumpy boobs since having my son a year ago, I didn’t know boobs could change? 😂 I definitely feel like I wasted there time 😩 but all clear, thank you all for your support, and I hope everyone who’s going through shitty cancer recover and feel there self again 🩷

Very pleased for you! I've been to the clinic three times with lumpy boobs, and the third time asked how I could tell the difference between another lumpy boob lump and one that was important. They said you can't, and to come back every single time.

Fab news xx

I went to the GP on the 13th Nov as I felt a lump which was quite protruding. I say a clinical nurse practitioner who examined bother breasts. He could feel a mobile and fibrous lump (possibly more than one) in my right breast and one (possibly more) in the left. My report isn't clear whether there is more than one in each breast but on examination I'm pretty sure I heard him sY there is more than one.
I got my appointment at the breast clinic on the cancer two weeks referral on Saturday 29th Nov. My mum will be coming with me.
I am a mum to my 9 year old girl.
Not sure how to feel, one min I don't feel anything, then I am crying.
I have endometriosis (waiting laproscopy and possible hysterectomy) had to stop my medication which finally controlled all my Endo symptoms, as instructed on examination, until I know what these lumps are.

@Snowybaby88 sorry to hear you're going through this anxious time too. I wish you the best for tomorrow. I have my appointment on Tuesday and I'm terrified at times and other times I'm calm... all the best x

DearLemur · 29/11/2025 20:07

@Snowybaby88 how was your appointment? x

ohdoriswheresthesalad · 04/12/2025 20:26

Mine wasn’t a good outcome. Stage 1 cancer with dcis in situ. Surgery booked for 3 days before Xmas!

Ratbag7 · 05/12/2025 10:26

So pleased for you x

viktoria · 08/12/2025 18:19

@ohdoriswheresthesalad I'm sorry to read that. That must have been a big shock, but it is great news that it's been caught early.

Happening all around Christmas makes it all more emotional. I bet. But it's good that you're getting it out of the way before the holidays. All the best for your surgery.

I'll be spending Christmas Eve having chemo.... but I'm glad I'm not losing a week. I want to get it over and done with as soon as possible,

Wrenjay · 08/12/2025 18:27

You were not wasting anyone's time. So pleased you have the best result.

ohdoriswheresthesalad · 08/12/2025 18:38

@viktoriaoh my goodness! And here’s me whittling and whining about my diagnosis when you’re in that position. I’m sorry to hear that.x

viktoria · 08/12/2025 19:34

@ohdoriswheresthesalad oh no, not at all. It's such a shock to hear the word cancer. And while it's not a competition,...surgery is scary.
I'm just pleased for you that it's stage 1. Well done for catching it early.

ohdoriswheresthesalad · 08/12/2025 19:57

Bless you @viktoriathank you.
It is scary, I’m terrified! Xx

viktoria · 10/12/2025 22:51

@ohdoriswheresthesalad I totally get it. I'm going to have a port inserted (for chemo) and it's a tiny day procedure with just local anaesthetic and I'm scared.
But just try to think what a relief you'll feel when it's over and done.
Try and do good things for yourself. Spoil yourself.
I have realised I have bought lots of little things that have cheered me up. (I will curtail my spending after December)
But I also love going for walks. Either by myself or with friends.
I have "proper" surgery coming up in May probably. I try not to worry about that just now. ( I know... it's easier said than done) Very small steps. One day at a time.
Keep strong and have your little cries too.
All the very best

jingscrivens1987 · 10/12/2025 23:00

i’ve been sent twice and both times it was nothing to worry about. Good luck x

ftp · 11/12/2025 15:50

Quick, caring and efficient with instant results. Both times 3 working days. Normal "squash" scan, followed by speaking to consultant, then ultrasound, then back to consultant to discuss. I was OK, mastitis scar from breast feeding recorded. Second time, it was cysts, suggestions on diet, change of bra and evening primrose prescription. Made to feel good about reporting.
Young new mum behind me had a 2 day referral for pre-surgery checks, and some pills to dry her milk (yes she was in bits about positive result, but so quick and sympathetic). Just one thing, if you are paying for parking, you may be a few hours

DearLemur · 17/11/2025 06:38

@Mamaxo No I haven't heard anything 😕 I don't know how long I've had my lump to be honest as it was the Dr who felt it and I can only feel it if I raise my arm. I go from being positive and getting on with things to really scared... it's going to be a long wait xx

Going through this now ,,worried sick
