Can You Use Oestrogen Cream When Not Menopausal?

Hi all, in the last few months I have begun having to intermittently self catheterise and I have noticed that in the run up to my period the process is more painful/uncomfortable.
When I’m removing the catheters I experience a nipping/catching sensation that only seems to occur for a few days coming up to my period and the first couple of days of it.
I was wondering if the drop in oestrogen could be causing this and was thinking of trying an oestrogen cream to see if it alleviates the problem. However, I’m unsure of whether this would be safe?

Yes, it is safe to use as it is localised and is delivered straight to the vaginal tissues so therefore not absorbed by the rest of the body. I hope it helps!

If a doctor is happy to prescribe it it's obviously fine. When you are saying 'not menopausal' though what do you mean, these issues can start in peri menopause so is that the stage you are at? Or do you mean you arent even in the peri stage yet, how old are you
