Hi all

I've had a chesty cough for 7 weeks now. Sometimes dry. Sometimes phlegmy.
The cold for 4 weeks.
Been to the docs. They gave antibiotics thinking it might be sinisitus but It hasn't worked.
I went back to them today. Got told it's a cold. Everyone has it. Nothing can be done as its viral and just wait it out.
My sinuses have been feeling heavy (nose and head) and the doc did say my throat is red when he checked but it's not tonsillitis.
Just wondering if anyone has experienced the same and what helps? I'm so tired of this.

Lots of rest, drinking lots, steam inhalation. These things all helped me. I really feel for you, hope you’re better soon

Thank you so much!
I felt like my cold was getting slightly better but today's been full on. Sneezing and all! 😮‍💨

I would also go back to the doctors again if you still don’t improve. I had the same situation last year and it took a few trips to the doctors until I got sorted and it went on for approx 8 weeks.

Yes had just this! As have my children. Also my parents, my siblings, my friends, have all had the same too. And not all caught from each other as haven't seen them for a while. We've all had similar really strange progression, where we've felt better for a few days, then worse again, then better, then worse, it's so draining! And a fever that comes and goes too. Seems to finally be going, just have this lingering phlegmy cough. Hope yours is finally going too 🤞

Do you remember what they prescribed?
