Hand hold - I’m sure it’s nothing

So I’ve been putting off going to the drs for quite some time now. Each little thing on its own didn’t seem worth bothering a doctor about - but now I’ve had other things come up too. So a few weeks ago I called into the drs and mentioned about the needing to wee all the time, especially at night, and they immediately gave me a diabetes finger prick test which came back as fine. They said to do an online consultation for a non urgent appointment. I finally did that on Sunday night after an additional thing cropped up last week - this morning I had a text telling me my issue was more urgent than they could get me an appointment for and to call for an urgent same day appointment. I did and am in at just after 11am today.

So now I’m suddenly worrying there might be something more serious going on and I’m an idiot for not going sooner. It’s probably nothing and just aging - but I’m feeling a bit scared and anxious about it still, so thought maybe I could get a handhold please? I don’t want to worry anyone in real life when it’s probably nothing.

in case anyone here can help reassure me, here are my symptoms:

Night waking 3-6 times a night to pee
Increased sense of urgency to pee - can’t hold even tiny amounts it seems
Urinary incontinence

An unexpected period with pink/purple blood
Change in bowel habits over last 2 years - went from weekly to multiple times a day 2 years ago, and over the last few weeks I’m much less frequent again
Night sweats
Sweating more in day
Hip pain
Swollen ankles
Massive increase in my chronic back pain - I’ve never had to take as many painkillers as this (could explain the change in bowel habits I guess)
Massively reduced appetite - I can barely finish a meal anymore
Can’t lose weight despite barely eating anything and going on huge walks daily (10-40k steps a day)

Does this sound like just perimenopause maybe (I’m 45)?

It does sound like a weird collection of symptoms, and I hope you get some answers and relief x

Thank you! It’s at the point where I don’t know what is and isn’t related, so I wanted to include everything going on in case someone could see something obvious!

The appointment was really thorough. Urine dip stick was normal, but they’re sending it for analysis in case that shows anything. They have booked me for urgent blood tests tomorrow and are sending me a bowel cancer screening kit to look for blood in my stool. I’ve got an appointment to see someone on Monday about starting HRT so we can see what symptoms remain once we get that under control. They did a feel of my stomach and a rectal exam - I presume they didn’t feel anything untoward as they didn’t mention anything.

That all sounds positive, hopefully they can rule out anything sinister and then hrt can help settle the remaining symptoms 🤞

Indeed - I’m the sort of person that doesn’t cope well with ambiguity so it’s a struggle not knowing what it is!
