Hi, I started with symptoms of a UTI at the weekend ( of course ) went to a walk in centre and saw a paramedic who gave me a prescription for 3 days of Pivmecillinam after the urine dipstick test showed blood and white blood cells. I was advised to try cystitis treatment sachets first which I did but felt much worse a few hours later so started the Antibiotics.
I've never had this antibiotic before but I'm on the last couple of doses now and still have symptoms especially pain after urination 😬
I'm surprised the sample wasn't sent off for culture and I did ask but was advised it wasn't needed, I contacted my GP surgery who advised sending a sample tomorrow but now I've had antibiotics would it show anything. I'm hoping that the last day of the treatment works but has anyone had this drug before and was it effective for you at the 3 day point ? Thanks if you read this !
