I’ve had BV few times now and I’m unsure if its BV again or UTI, I’m feeling pelvic pain and internal burning. In past it’s been sexual health I’ve went too due to them having labs and quicker results..and prescription ready.
i only wash with water, I didn’t have a partner previously and was getting it now after 4 months together its back for 6th time! But unsure if its been during oral/fingers. This time! Feeling upset as fed up of it (I don’t douche, he doesn’t finish in me, I don’t have baths or swim, just showering with water, no scented products and I wear cotton)

can a gp test and tell me results like how sexual health does they had a swab that checks ph?
is there one I can buy over the counter?
can pharmacists check for utis with dip tests or again gp?
I feel confused on how to know quicker..as in past I’ve had bv and it just doesn’t present normal for me ie fishy smell..its more burning and confirmed by sexual health

Book an appointment with your GP. At home swabs aren't as accurate as lab ones, so might miss it. They can swab for it and then it will be tested. They should also swab for thrush.

Yes you can have BV without a smell at all, it may be a very faint smell which you can only spot when someone examines it.

It can take a week for swabs at the GP to come back, have you considered treatment for your partner apparently bv bacteria can be passed back and forth, it might be worth it? Did they test you at sexual health for trichomoniasis and mycoplasma?

I also feel I may have BV but unsure. Have yellow tinge discharge, but no other symptoms really, a little stingy but nothing major. I have done at home test but came back inconclusive. Have had recent STI check and all clear. Any advice?

BV has a fishy smell. Especially during sex and after . Highly embarrassing.
It is often related to PH levels in the vagina.
Oral women’s health probiotics are your friend and also the BV Canastan pessaries and gel.
Of course the GP is your first priority as they can professionally advise and diagnose .
Good luck.

It doesn’t always smell. Lots of women have it without even noticing - it can be odourless and it can be completely asymptomatic.

About one-third of all women have it at any one time; it only smells in certain cases.
