Desogestrel to Noriday

Hi all,

Looking for some advice please. I have just started my fourth month on Desogestrel and queried a change with the GP as my spotting/bleeding has taken over most of the duration I have been taking this mini pill.

Month 1 I bled 14 out of 28 days
Month 2 21 out of 28 days
Month 3 20 out of 28 days
Month 4 currently 12 days so far

Although the bleeding isn’t a lot, it’s constant and the reason I went on to this in the first place was because I had been experiencing long periods (10-11days) every two weeks.

The GP has advised to try Noriday which I intend to start at the end of this month but also scared in case it’s worse!

I’m wondering if anyone has any advice or experiences with this and can share?

thanks!

Noriday is slightly different and has a 3 hour window to take it rather than 12 hours like desogestrel

I've been on noriday for years as I got nasty cystic acne with cerelle/cerezette. I like it and it suits me. The smaller window for timings wouldn't suit everyone.

Slynd is a newer option with a 24 hour window
Not sure if a GP would prescribe or you can buy from online pharmacies

Fell pregnant twice on Noriday (perfect use) but was subsequently diagnosed with hyperfertilty. Both pregnancies were lost - one miscarried, one ectopic. Husband has since had a vasectomy.

How is your bleeding on this? I’m fine with the short window I take my current pill the same time everyday give or take a few mins.

Sorry to hear this how traumatic that must have been for you 😔

I’m so fed up with the constant bleeding I’ll probably give Noriday a go and if it doesn’t work then might try one more before calling it a day. Honestly being a woman is hard enough without bleeding out all the time! I was hoping the pill was going to settle but if not then I’ll just go back to my annoying long periods again at least they were consistent in timing 🫠

Ive had zero bleeds on noriday in ten years.

That would be amazing but I don’t think I’ll be that lucky! Will definitely give it a go though and see how I get on
