Hi there,
just feeling more panicky and nervous now. Starting wiping some blood over 8 weeks (maybe 8/9 times). Fit test came back at 116 so drs have sent me for colonoscopy, OGD and ct scan. I’ve lost some weight but that could be anything. I’m a teacher with a nearly 2 year old and a 3.5 year old so tiredness is always a thing.
I’ve had awful bloating and nausea of late as well.

I have my colonoscopy and OGD end of this week and I’m just so nervous.

bloods have all come back normal but yeh, should I be concerned? I’m only 29 - send help.

The good thing about colonoscopies is that you generally find out straight away if there is anything to worry about or not. So although it might seem like a long time to wait, it won't be long until you have more information.

If it helps, I was in this position last year. Had to wait 6 weeks for a colonoscopy and gastroscopy. They didn't find anything and no explanation for my symptoms or a positive FIT test.

Ultimately no one can really give you much comfort until you've had the procedure. Hoping that its good news for you. In the meantime be kind to yourself and find some distractions amd comfort where you can. I did a massive spring clean of my house while watching endless repeats of Friends and it made the time pass faster.

It’s been a really quick turn around, was put on 2WW and I’ve actually only had to wait 2 weeks since the positive fit.

That’s a bit frustrating for you as there’s no answer, but I suppose it’s no news is good news!
Yes, comfort and distraction is what I’m trying to do. Friends is always a good pick for that!

Hi OP,
I'm in a similar boat. Dr actually thought I have endo so has referred me to gynae, but did a fit test just in case (due to symptoms) which came back at 90. Because I'm under 40, I also had to do a calprotectin test as most cases of bleeding in under 40s are due to Crohn's or inflammatory bowel disease. That was an extra 2 weeks. That's now come back as negative (which I feel like is a bad thing as it makes me think the bleeding is more sinister) and I've got my colonoscopy booked in next Saturday.
The waiting is horrible. I'm swinging all day between 'its piles' to 'its cancer'. Just thinking about it it so much has made me so tired!
I really hope it does well for you.

Exactly the same! I had the calprotection but also negative. All bloods are normal and CT scan came back yesterday as normal. That’s the only thing that’s reassured me as even if it is canc r, it’s not spread. But it’s definitely been a strange and exhausting experience anticipating whether it’s going to be good news or bad.
Hopefully, we’re both stressing for nothing!

The waiting is the worst part. Once you have an outcome, you at least know what you are dealing with. You will find out at the colonoscopy whether there are any polyps, but you may also find any biopsies will need to be sent off to confirm if cancer is present. If is is bowel cancer, it's one of the better cancers to get, as it tends to be slow growing and there are treatment options. Good luck.
