Pain after cervical polyp removed

Hi,
I had a polyp removed at GP gynae clinic just over a week ago and was basically fine after, a bit of bleeding as expected, but that stopped after a couple of days. They didn't manage to cut the whole polyp out, so have referred to the hospital gynaecological service.

The last couple of days I've started getting period like pain which was quite bad yesterday evening, better this morning and now really quite bad again. I'm not due my period for another week, and there is no sign of blood or discharge. Don't normally get this much pain with my periods anyway, and this reminds of the feeling I had when I had a pessary up there to induce labour. I don't have a temperature.

I have called 111 and waiting for a call back from GP. Just wondering if anyone has experience of this or some advice whilst I wait and worry.

How are you feeling in yourself?

I think i would go to A&E to rule out an infection

A bit tired, but had a nasty cold last week that has only really really cleared up today. Haven't lost my appetite, but feel a little bit nauseous with the pain.

I called 111 a couple of hours ago and they said a call back within 6 hours, so will wait for that (I less anything changes). I'm thinking infection, but no temperature (and I haven't had paracetamol or anything else since last night) and no discharge.

Hope 111 have rang back and you are still.feeling ok

Do you have a number to contact on your discharge paperwork? I would contact them in the first instance, if you have an endometrial polyp removed there is a number to contact if you have heavy bleeding/signs of infection.

The GP rang me at about 10pm. I had started feeling a bit better by then. He though symptoms not alarming, but offered for me to come in if I wanted, but as I felt better I decided against a late night trip out. He said drink plenty, rest and pain killers. If it gets worse of changes just ring 111 and they can see me. Still feeling better, so hopefully all ok now.
The clinic who did it didn't give me a number to call if I had issues - and the appointment number is only available normal work hours Monday to Friday. I would have liked to speak with them.
