Benign ovarian tumour removed but I'm still unwell.

Can anyone advise please?
I had a benign ovarian tumour removed in March (previously told it was cancer)..
I can't recover. I've been hospitalised twice for pneumonia since and Im bedridden most of the time.
I'm 59 and also have RA.
I can no longer walk more than a few yards and I'm breathless just moving around. I can't get up or down stairs or stand longer than a few minutes. I feel there's something really wrong.
No follow up to the surgery. Anyone else had this? I'm a total burden to my family.

Well surgery can impact the immune system and in my experience it can take 6-12 months for system to recover. You have RA- are you on immunosuppressants / biologics for that- if so perhaps your regime needs to be reviewed. Have you have lung function tests? If not I would ask. Do you think on top of the obvious physical issues, you may be low in mood as well? Spending all day in bed is pretty extreme even in chronic illness- I speak with compassion as someone who has a serious autoimmune issue. Believing you have ovarian cancer must have been shocking and terrifying and maybe having a space to explore the after effects of all that might be helpful too .
