I was wondering if anyone else has experienced something like this and would share their perspective? I'm nearly 49 with a history of endometriosis and currently have a low BMI. I haven't had a period for over 18 months and was recently told by my GP that my ovaries are now defunct (high FSH). The thing is I've hardly had any sudden menopause symptoms (when I compare to most ladies I know and the awful struggles they endure) so I am unsure whether this is the menopause or amenorrhea because of being underweight? The GP was adamant it is the menopause but I'm really confused how it could be. Do the menopause symptoms happen when oestrogen is declining in your body and if so does that mean if my FSH levels are high then the oestrogen has declined? I would really appreciate any guidance or reading or anything to help me understand my situation.
I don't think it helps that most of my life I have suffered with some of the symptoms anyway due to the endo though. Thanks all x
