Is this peri menopause or am I insane?

Can everyone share their symptoms. I just don’t feel right lately. I feel like every part of my cycle holds a new anxiety. They range from around 24-29 days. I’m starting to bleed around ovulation and when I actually get my period it can last between 2 and 5 days, sometimes hardly anything and sometimes very heavy. I feel the only time I feel half normal in my cycle is between days 4 and 9. im having such random symptoms in general and just feeling extremely anxious weather it’s all cycles related, normal, weather I should worry or weather I’m just going insane. My anxiety with these forever new and changing symptoms is so high!

I am aware I haven’t gone into all my symptoms throughout a month. I will if the chat opens up. Just wondering if anyone is going through or has gone though peri and felt like they have every illness and symptom under the sun?

im 39 by the way.

I’m 41 and starting to think I’m having symptoms start, but freaked out!

@Cloud44 i don’t even know where to start with symptoms. I feel like I get anxious about something every month. Random Symptoms seem to arise around ovulation or before my period. The amount of colds I’ve had lately too 🙈

my anxiety got so bad during perimaepoause I actually did go insane and went into psychosis

I have anxiety long term but im now 45 and its biting hard enough that I’m going back on the meds. I get agoraphobic and don’t want to leave the house and ideally not my bedroom for a couple of days a month for the last few cycles. I have no idea why the fear sets in but its awful.

I noticed increasing rage in my PMT. My periods used to be 40/50/60+ days long and they became closer together and heavier, I would flood. I put up with the heavy periods because it crept up so slowly that I didn’t realise, and I assumed it was something that happened at this stage of life. However I ended up anaemic so got a Mirena coil to stop it happening again. I wish I’d had it years earlier.
And one of my symptoms was not being bothered to go anywhere, I wasn’t agoraphobic, just could not be bothered. HRT helped that.

Sounds like peri to me op. I get anxiety for a week before my period is due, and I’m sort of low key on edge the test of the time, with flashes of real anger/doom like feeling that I’ve never had before.
i also have three days a month where I feel like I’ve got flu coming. Then night sweats, aching, fatigue, weight gain. It’s truly shit tbh.

Peri menopause can be a bonkers time for some women 🤯. Periods can become closer together, further apart, longer, shorter, heavier or lighter. This is entirely normal. Symptoms can be exacerbated at different times of the month due to the fluctuating hormones.
Although average age of menopause is 45-55, we can experience it earlier or later than this. Sometimes it can be hereditary - try asking the older women in your family when and what symptoms they experienced.
I’ve attached a useful booklet. You could see your doctor who might do tests to rule out other causes, for example low vitamin D, B or iron. As you are under 40, they might do hormone test to measure FSH levels (ovarian function) which should be done twice. However results might not be conclusive as hormones fluctuate massively in perimenopause
