Mirena coil - sudden heavy bleed and pain

I’ve had the mirena coil for a couple of years (first one self expelled). I’ve not had the strings but been scanned and was in correct place around a year ago with no follow ups advised by GP.

About two weeks ago I got a sudden gush of blood, lasted a few hours and stopped.

Yesterday I have lower left abdominal pain and another large gush with clots, now it’s slowed right down and going brown.

No fever or infection symptoms but when I google the symptoms it says to get urgent medical help. That feels a bit dramatic for pain that I would say is a 3/10 on a scale and some bleeding.

Any advice on whether I should contact out of hours today?

I would definitely seek medical advice in such circumstances.

Could it be an ovarian cyst? These are quite common with Mirena.

But yes. Seek advice :)

The pain seems worse when sitting down and definitely only on my left side. Uch probably going to need to get out of hours. Thanks for responses.
