Using Tampax without applicator

Woke up this morning to half of the tampax out of the box and opened up out of the applicators. Does anyone know if they can be used without the applicator as you would non-applicator tampons or are they unusable now?

Another day another cupboard lock needed…

I mean if they’re on the floor and dusty or whatever I’d not want to use them at all!
But in an emergency if that’s all they have at the shop I’ll buy the applicator ones and just bin the applicator and use the tampon,
I’ve never been able to get my head around the use for the applicator or how it actually works!

Do you mean your DC has pulled them apart?

id be cautious of the hygiene issue (out of package) but not worry about the lack of applicator. Lil-lets work fine with no applicator.

If they've been on the floor, why are the tampons themself fine to use but not the cardboard applicator? Either you decide they are open so unhygienic so chuck them, or think-the tampons are fine to use, so the cardboard will be ok as well?

Tampax are longer and more bendy than the non-applicator ones which are stubby and hard, so might be hard to insert without the cardboard.

you can sometimes manage to stick them back into the applicator but agree with the PP that I wouldn't use them if they've been on the floor.
