Hey everyone, I found out I had a 5cm cyst back in March during a pregnancy scan (resulted in miscarriage) I've been monitored since then, and I have a consultation on Sept 23rd. I had a copper coil IUD inserted last Tuesday, and since then, I've been having strong pulling pains on my right side (where the cyst is) and painful bloating. I've never had any cyst symptoms before the IUD. Could the IUD be triggering this? I've been resting, taking ibuprofen, and drinking water, but the bloating isn't going away. I'm flying to Paris in a couple of weeks and don't want this to ruin my trip! Any remedies for the bloating besides what I've tried?

I'd go back to your GP as soon as you can and get booked in for an urgent transvaginal and pelvic ultrasound or MRI - if the cyst has grown which it likely has, you'll likely be referred to gynae to talk about removing it. The coil is likely not having an impact (espeically as it was already 5cm before you had it inserted). I'd be more worried about the growth and getting it out - you can get stronger NSAIDs (so ibuprofen is one but naproxen and mefenamic acid are stronger).
