Colposcopy

I had a colcoscopy and LLETZ procedure last week. I’ve just received a letter (not biopsy results yet) about the findings on the day stating ‘dense acetowhite on posterior lip of cervix consistent with high grade CIN’.
Im aware that likely all is fine and probably all removed on the day, I’m wondering if anyone else has had this specifically? Thank you

Bumping for you.

When I’ve had colposcopy’s they’ve just stated that I had an abnormal area on the initial report. Each time my biopsies have came back as CIN1. During my appointments they mentioned the white areas and were able to say what grade they suspected them to be.

I was initially reassured because she looked at me and immediately said ‘it’s not cancer’ which is great and obviously the best news and then I got this letter which sounds very business like and less reassuring. I’m sure she wouldn’t have said that unless she was sure but I just want to know I don’t need to worry anymore and that it’s all over with!

I'm not a doctor, OP, but it's my understanding that high-grade means it could progress to cancer if untreated, so it needs to be excised. But it's not cancer.

High grade CIN isn't cancer. So it matches what she told you. And zero chance she would have said that to you if she wasn't sure.

The letters never sound reassuring, they're not very human-focused.

Thankyou, that’s what I thought and I know the chances are vanishingly small anyway but for her to say it’s not was fantastic anyway. It was the ‘dense…etc’ that sent me off back to slightly worrying again.
Ill make myself relax again now 😂
