Period pains no period

I’m currently 2 years post partum and haven’t had a period yet. I put it down to the fact I’m still breastfeeding. I went to the doctors a couple weeks ago just to talk about it, I had a blood test and one of the hormone markers came back slightly raised which they said could be down to breastfeeding but they want to have a scan on my ovaries. The past 3 days I’ve had what feels like bad periods pains and a kind of aching feeling in my pelvic and vagina. I’m starting to worry. What could it be? Do you think my period could potentially be starting? Anybody experienced anything similar?

Any chance you could be pregnant again?

They did a pregnancy test when I went to the doctors which came back negative. My scan isn’t booked in until mid September which was the earlier they had. Just not sure what it could be? Can’t help but worry. One of the hormone markers came back raised which I read can be due to breastfeeding but the doctor said that even for breastfeeding it’s slightly high.

What scan are you having? Also what hormone raisers did they test you for?

The hormone was called serum prolactin. When I googled it, it does say can be raised due to breastfeeding which I am but the doctor on the phone said even with breastfeeding it’s slightly high. They want to do a scan on my ovaries.

Yes but what type of scan - an ultrasound (if so is it a transvaginal one or a pelvic ultrasound or both?). Or are you getting an mri, ct?

Okay that's good. When is it? Or have you not gotten an appointment date yet? Do you know what steps will happen from there or not yet?
