Hypoallergenic panty liners/towels

Hi

Currently 6 months pregnant and find myself having to wear panty liners most days due to more fluids down there (TMI) but find myself feeling quite irritated by the constant use. Can get quite itchy/inflamed/sore.

Can anyone recommend any they have used long term that don’t cause irritation or are kinder to skin?

Fleece ones, washable. They attach with poppers.

Also- and perhaps not possible with your baby bump- looser fitting in the gusset. I wore a culotte petticoat the other day, with nothing underneath. It was so much cooler and more comfortable than my usual close fitting briefs. Revelation. I think the close fitting cotton gusset makes pants worse for moisture than nothing at all! So try going commando or wearing loose fitting pants like boxers or shorts.

I’m allergic to polyester so the microfibre reusable thing would be out for me.

Oh I didn’t even think of reusable ones @myplace i might order some and give them a go.

@Elephantsarenottheonlyfruit these loon perfect too with the cotton on top. Have you used these? How did you find them?

its making me miserable tbh so happy to try everything.

Another vote for reusables. I have several of this brand that have been going strong for years now.

There are lots of other options on that site, worth a look! It's a great shop for eco-friendly family stuff in general. If you join their facebook group there's often a 10% discount code being shared around too.

Have you time travelled from the 1800s with your petticoat? Not sure what good going commando would be when the OP needs to use a pad for protection.

It shocked me too. It was unexpected. Apparently when you don’t stuff an absorbent cloth up against your vulva, less moisture is drawn out.

I think they may have been onto something. I have always- always- worn daily liners and felt they were essential.

I mean, feel free to pour scorn but as you haven’t tried it how would you know I’m wrong?

I have used them @SB1712 and they were non irritating for me - I had the same problem and the same irritation !

SB1712 · 19/08/2025 11:37

Thanks for all your recommendations.

@cornbunting I’ve just ordered the ones you sent as I liked the idea of them being organic cotton. Also saw some organic cotton panty liners on there like the ones you suggested @Elephantsarenottheonlyfruit so ordered those too just in case.

Thanks for your help all, hoping this is the end of my issues as combined with other things it’s starting to get me down!
