Sterilisation and endometrial ablation

I had laproscopic sterilisation and ablation with a biopsy done nearly 2wks ago. Surgery was under GA and only have 3 small incisions which all look to have healed well. No signs of infection. Absolutely no bleeding or discharge which is amazing. I still have some general discomfort but manageable with the odd paracetamol however the incision at belly button really hurts when pressure applied - cant wear anything with a proper waistband yet. Im due to return to work Tuesday and worried about driving and wearing a seat belt. Everything I've read is people saying a few days to a week and being back at normal activity. Am I just being dramatic and over cautious and need to crack on now? I think I was expecting a few days of limited activity then back to normal. Anyone else had similar experiences?

My DD recently had a laparoscopy and needed 3 weeks off before she felt she could drive safely. She was given a 2 week sick note from the hospital and then requested another weeks from the GP. The consultant told her some people need 4-6 weeks recovery so take the time you need to fully recover as it’s very individual.

I had exactly the same as you and after 2 weeks I was still really tender around the incisions and I wasn’t back to normal. I had 2 weeks off work and then probably another week before I was back in a pair of jeans and driving. You aren’t being dramatic or over cautious, take it easy and look after yourself
