Is using Norethisterone to delay your period more than once a year harmful or inadvisable?

Hi all. I went on holiday in early July and I decided to use Norethisterone a short time prior to departure day to delay my period. I simply wouldn't have been able to enjoy the holiday if I was "on" during it.

I normally wouldn't use it more than once a year, but there's a significant social event coming up in September which I've been invited to. Unfortunately I will be slap bang in the middle of my period when the event takes place. Asking for it to be moved or delayed to accommodate my cycle isn't an option (and I would be too embarrassed to even entertain the idea). My options appear to be trying to get out of the event (which I really don't want to do), or taking Norethisterone to delay my period again for the second time in two months. I've never been in a situation where I've needed to use it twice in a short space of time. Has anyone else used it more than once in a short timeframe and did you have any negative effects from it?
