Is a bit of bleeding/spotting at ovulation normal?

I have had ovulation bleeding/spotting ever since my periods started (c. 13 years ago). My cycles have always been pretty regular, 26-28 days, so quite easy to track. It's very light, a small amount of bleeding, generally mixed with discharge. It lasts a couple of days and it's not enough to warrant sanitary protection. As I say, I've had it routinely since puberty, so it's not a new symptom for me and I've never felt concerned about it. Never had it checked before as I believed it to be normal. No accompanying symptoms. But I felt anxious this week when talking to a friend, who said she'd not heard of it. Got a GP appointment, but just wondered if anyone had experienced this? Can some women just experience this at ovulation?

I also have this and just assumed it was normal.
