Periods getting shorter

HettyMeg · 28/07/2025 13:24

I've noticed over the past couple of years my periods only last about three days. (Had baby 4 years ago).
Now I've realised the gap between my periods is shortening and in the last 3 months has gone from 29 to 27 losing a day each month.
I am 36. Don't exercise enough but not overly unhealthy ie not overweight, don't smoke, don't drink too much. I do have quite a lot of stress and anxiety.

Is this something to be concerned about?

I think it’s a normal part of ageing - happened to me early 40s on the way to peri

My only thought is you are a bit young to have your cycle get shorter

My period are the same, I’m just about to turn 40. The last few years my periods have got shorter, lighter and now have a 26 day cycle. Not to fussed at them being closer together, as they only last for 2 days. I used to have 7 periods when I was younger. I have had my hormones tested, but all is “normal” apparently, and I am not in peri
