Endometrial ablation - recovery

Due to years of extremely heavy periods resulting in significant anaemia that hospitalised me earlier this year, and responding very poorly to all hormonal contraception, I am having endometrial ablation on Monday.

I'm an anxious wreck about the surgery (mainly about general anaesthetic and probably because I've watched far too much Grey's Anatomy), but also about recovery.

I've advised work I won't be in for up to a week and WFH the week I am back, but if you've had the procedure done, what was recovery like? Pain? Bleeding/discharge etc? Op is on Monday, and I have tentative (but important) plans for the Friday night/Saturday, is it likely that I'll be able to attend?

I've had it. It took about a week to feel myself again and my periods were so much better almost immediately. From heavy continued bleeding to 2 days of heavy bleeding and no spotting!!

No pain afterwards, spotting for a day, no more periods ever again.

Felt tired for a couple of days due to general anaesthetic. I also had keyhole surgery done at the same time for something else but the ablation was a breeze.

It was a very simple procedure. I was given two weeks off work and recovered well. Unfortunately it didn’t work for me because I had fibroids.

Had it done in 2012, minimal discomfort even went to Paris the following day!
Didn't work for me had a full hysterectomy 2013.

Hysterscopy on the Monday afternoon under ga with a coil in for no good reason, back to work on the Wednesday morning.

Even recent trauma, the fit note started in hospital and awarded just 12 working days. I have had to book days off as annual leave and this is before we get to medics doing anything. Quite aghast at mental health help!
