Pelvic scan results - so worried

I had an internal pelvic ultrasound at the weekend after being referred by the gp.

id been having really heavy periods since I had my 3rd baby this time last year. They have still be very regular, no spotting or anything in between, just much heavier. I expressed my concern about this to the gp as I am already very anaemic.

went into my scan not thinking too much about it at all as gp said that it’s likely just ‘one of those things’ as they get worse after each pregnancy.

got a text from the GP surgery yesterday saying:

“I have requested advice about your scan report . If you would like to discuss this further in ther interim please book appointment via reception”

looked on NHS app and there are codes on my file that show I’m being referred somewhere further. The gp is calling me about this later in the week but I am not absolutely terrified at what they may have found and that I could be poorly.

I had several ultrasounds soon after giving birth and nothing was mentioned. Followed by a clear smear test a few months ago which picked up a cervical ectropian (?) erosion. But was told this was hormonal and nothing to worry about.

anyone been through anything similar? Feel so so anxious

Did you have a trans abdominal and trans vaginal ultrasound scan?

I had an abnormal result from my scans. The doctor told me straight away that I had a mass on my left ovary.

This was ten years ago and following surgery for ovarian cancer, I made a good recovery.

I don’t want to scare you but even if something like cancer is found, it’s not a death sentence.

The waiting for results is the hardest part. 💐

Yes, mine was abnormal too and I was asked to make an appointment to speak to my GP. Awaiting biopsy results now. However it could be a whole range of things and you will know more in a few days, in the vast majority of cases it will have picked up something to be looked at but not necessarily something sinister. I had a bunch of things on my scan, however it’s still about 85% not cancer based on probability.
