Hi all,

I’ve been suffering with fatigue, hair loss, brain fog, concentration issues, aches and anxiety and have had the below results come back but the doctor claims no further action is needed ? My mum has anemia but have been told my results show my levels do not require iron tablets or further investigation?

I also have a higher TSH level of 3.9 which the doc says is also normal ? But I do not feel normal at all,

has anyone had similar blood results to me ?

Serum ferritin:
35.9 ug/L
Reference range:
11.0 to 307.0

Serum iron level:
10.7 umol/L
Reference range:
11.0 to 32.0

thank you

The thing is your serum iron level is borderline and your ferritin is “ok” but not great. Everybody is different but I get neurological symptoms with a ferritin below 50, but I’ve run (and trained) for marathons with a ferritin of 3.

Again, TSH is borderline, so I’d ask for the full thyroid panel.

you can start supplementing iron though, just go to your pharmacy.

I have both hypothyroidism and iron deficiency
